Donna Scott
Co-Director and Head Trainer
Donna has over 30 years of experience with horses, having worked with top names like Peter Snowden and Darley. In 2017, she began training independently, growing her Southern NSW stable into a thriving operation with nearly 30 horses. This season, her team boasts a 13.5% win rate and over 40% win/place rate. Donna is known for her horse-first approach and ability to get the best from every horse.
Leanne Hulm
With 14 years of experience helping to run the Hazel Park Spelling farm, she had developed a deep understanding of equine care and business operations.
As a Director of Hazel Park Racing, Leanne plays a key role in overseeing the organisation’s growth and success and has a Masters in Business Administration (MBA), bringing extensive expertise in business management.
Maddison Connell
Assistant Trainer/ Data Analyst
Maddison, has worked for Hazel Park Racing for 10 years. Starting out at as a work rider, progressing to a Foreperson and then moving into the role as Donna’s Assistant Trainer. Maddison still regularly rides work, rarely misses a race meeting and without a doubt is always the first to arrive and the last one to leave.
Maddison is also currently enrolled in a Certificate IV in Racing (Racehorse Trainer) and more recently is exploring her passion in Equine Technology, undertaking an Equinescience Program offered by Arioneo.
Rhys Holleran
Bloodstock
Rhys started his horse breeding and buying journey in 2011 and 14 years later produces an annual draft of bred and bought horses who have had great success on the track.
Bred horses’ runners to winners is still a perfect 100% with notable successes in Lord Von Costa and Our last Cash. Bought at sale horses the strike rate is an impressive 75%.
Over the journey his horses have produced in excess of 2.2million in prize money. Central to that success has been patience, breeding and having the horses welfare at heart.
