Promising 3yo Mr Avery continued his impressive form since joining Hazel Park Racing, making it two wins from just three starts for the stable with a dominant victory at Wagga.
After overcoming a minor setback, Mr Avery resumed work with a pleasing trial at Wodonga before returning to the races after almost two months between runs. Stepping back to the mile in a Class 1, the short-priced favourite justified the confidence of punters with an authoritative display.
Settling near the tail of the field, Mr Avery travelled comfortably before producing a sweeping run around the field approaching the home turn. Once he balanced up in the straight, the result was never in doubt as he powered away to score by an impressive six lengths.
