Mr Avery, a 3yo son of Blue Point, made a strong first impression for his new stable with an eye catching maiden victory at Albury.
Having his debut run for the yard, the promising galloper overcame an early setback after being slow away from the barriers. Despite giving away ground at the start, Mr Avery quickly gathered momentum and worked his way back into contention.
Showing determination and a sharp turn of foot, he chased down his rivals in the straight to score an impressive win, highlighting both his ability and toughness under pressure.
The performance suggested there is plenty of upside to the Blue Point gelding, with the stable likely to take confidence from the way he was able to recover from adversity and still finish over the top of his opposition.
